Introducing the Uchi Tent, where classic wall tent design merges with modern functionality to deliver a unique camping experience. Crafted from breathable Canvo™ fabric, this tent offers an inviting space that remains cool in summer and warm in winter. The large mesh windows ensure optimal ventilation, adapting to diverse weather conditions. The near-vertical walls enhance the feeling of spaciousness within, making every moment inside the tent a comfortable one. Plus, expand your living space seamlessly with the attachable Base Camp Awning, sold separately. (Tan has been discontinued).
Canvo™ is a mix of cotton and polyester. Compared to polyester, Canvo™ provides a superior camping experience. The material breathes so the tent does not become humid, it’s quieter in the wind, and it’s more durable. Canvo™ is commonly used for tents in Europe and Japan. It is used less commonly in North America due to the cost. In an effort to introduce Canvo™ tents to the North American market, DOD is offering our line of Canvo™ tents at prices competitive to polyester tents. You can learn more about care and maintenance of your Canvo™ tent or tarp here. You can learn more about Canvo™ , the revolutionary new tent and tarp material, here.
As a Japanese brand, many of our products are named in Japanese. Uchi here means “house” because this straight walled tent is as big as a house.

I wanted a larger tent that I could comfortably stand up in at 6’-2”. After doing a ton of research, I decided to purchase this tent. It’s a great size for my use. The build quality is 10/10. It’s takes me about 15 minutes to set it up and take it down. One thing that has been awesome, is the material of the tent isn’t as loud when there’s a breeze. Also, it packs down to a relatively small size. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a larger tent.
I’ve had this tent out on two trips, both with lots of wind and rain. This is my first polycotton tent and I was a little worried about how it would hold up, but it did great, stayed dry and held up to 40+ mph wind gusts. Loved that there was less condensation build up, lots of ventilation, and tons of usable space. The quality is excellent, I got this tent and tarp with the Tsuku as well. I haven’t taken that tent out yet, but if the quality is similar I know I’ll be really happy with it too.
After some research I decided on this tent over the copper canyon tents. ⛺️
Pros:
the tent color scheme is much more natural.
the area is slightly larger then most tents.
ease of setup.
lightweight considering material and size.
high quality materials.
design looks nice and works well with plenty of airflow if wanted and bug netting.
Cons:
wish it was even bigger somehow? the sides being a couple feet higher would make it more room.
This combination is great! I can’t wait to use it more. The tent is a little more compact than some family tents and should fit on just about all standard state park style tent pads. While you may lose a small amount of tent space you gain that back with huge livable space by adding on the base camp awning. Using the tent and awning independently of desired is just another bonus. Love the fabric, love how the products have carrying bags with compression straps. Overall very impressed. DOD has some fun, well thought out products.
I was impressed by the great quality. Even the stakes are good quality. I got this with the Tsuku base tent. Easy to set up. Very happy with the purchase.

I've recently gotten into camping again after many years of not doing it, and I am revamping my gear. I did a lot of research on some of the best camp tables, and this kept popping up and IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!
It takes some practice to get used to setting it up, but once you catch on it's easier each time. I obviously had to test it out as soon as I got it, so took it out to our little uncovered fire area and it handled direct heat like a champ. I've cooked with it on an open flame three times now and it's awesome. We've also used it as just a regular camp table and it can handle quite a bit of stuff.
Right out of the box, be prepared to have to tighten the little bolts on the inside of the wooden exterior handles. I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting the carrying bag with it.
Love this for car camping, Great for keeping cooking gear and dry food.
This is my second review of the large desert tent. We took it during a summer day on the Guadalupe river in Texas. I was impressed by the function ability and just overall sadness of the structure. It’s a great tent for a small family. it’s easy to set up and most of all. It was a place. I will come back to you on a regular basis. This tent is outstanding.
This is an amazing little firepit for the cost, weight, and size. Buy it without hesitation.
I haven’t used the grates for grilling yet but it's great for browning the top of cast iron pizza while camping. I start the pizza on the Coleman stove in a cast iron griddle pan then finish it off under the Grill of Secrets.
I’ve built half a dozen fires so far and the mesh screen is holding up just fine. No holes or wear. No evidence of rusting anywhere. I store a thin pair of gardening gloves in the storage bag as the stainless turns black and is dirty to handle.
If I were to provide any feedback to DoD for improvement, it would be very minor. Perhaps there’s an opportunity for accessory products or other sizes. I do wish the storage bag was a bit larger and more robust, perhaps with a washable/wipable liner. I’d like to be able to store the fireproof mat, gloves, and accessories (e.g. grill grate lifter, a metal garden trowel I use for ashes) alongside the fire pit and be able to keep things clean-ish and keep residual soot/ash contained. I do realize there is a balance between space/weight.
Also, commercially available firewood in the US is a bit longer than the space between the wavy side support members. A fire pit a few inches larger would be more convenient in the US. I request shorter, fatter pieces of wood from my local supplier and it works flawlessly.
The fire pit is sturdy enough provided you do not drag the burning firewood around on the mesh. I bought a pair of stainless steel fire tongs for managing the fire to prevent accidentally collapsing the fire pit. The large scissor-like tongs make it easy to grab, lift, and reposition wood without dragging it around.
I’m very happy with this product and look forward to many warm nights of marshmallows and pizza ahead.
