About Canvo

Canvo is a mix of cotton and polyester. Compared to polyester, Canvo provides a superior camping experience. The material breathes so the tent does not become humid, it’s quieter in the wind, and it’s more durable. Canvo is commonly used for tents in Europe and Japan. It is used less commonly in North America due to the cost. In an effort to introduce Canvo tents to the North American market, DOD is offering our line of Canvo tents at prices competitive to polyester tents. You can learn more about Canvo™ tents here.

Great, with some caveats

I bought this tent a while back, and didn't want to post a review until I got a few nights in, including nights that included inclement weather. Frankly, I'm rather impressed. In mild weather, it is both warmer and less humid than I would have expected. And in rain, while I expected there to be some extent of "moistening," I experienced none. The fly held off the moisture admirably, and the cotton only seemed to absorb what I'd expect from humidity in the air. I'm not sure if I'd take this tent in horribly inclement weather, but I'm also uncertain if that's the sort of camping trip this was made for.

Spacious

Much bigger inside than you'd think. Came in handy when it dumped rain on us one night... Highly recommended!
