About Canvo™
Canvo™ is a mix of cotton and polyester. Compared to polyester, Canvo™ provides a superior camping experience. The material breathes so the tent does not become humid, it’s quieter in the wind, and it’s more durable. Canvo™ is commonly used for tents in Europe and Japan. It is used less commonly in North America due to the cost. In an effort to introduce Canvo™ tents to the North American market, DOD is offering our line of Canvo™ tents at prices competitive to polyester tents. You can learn more about care and maintenance of your Canvo™ tent or tarp here. You can learn more about Canvo™ , the revolutionary new tent and tarp material, here.

I love this tent. It is heavy, but that’s because it’s made from a polycotton material that is similar to canvas. That means it’s super durable. The sleeping area is just enough space for a low cot and to store your pack/personal belongings. There are 6 windows on the inside, and when open the air flow is excellent. A pocket on the inside and outside vestibule area gives you some storage. The guy lines are thick and good quality. The tent poles are very sturdy and the interior cable that snaps the poles together is also metal, so I expect them to basically last forever. Easy to pitch and take down. Still working on rolling it up to pack down into the bag- not easy.
I love chilling in the covered vestibule area. It’s nice to have some privacy at a campground. I got the green color, and it’s DARK. Pretty much black-out. So, great for sleeping in.
Very cool tent and a total no-brainer for the price. I expect to get many years of use out of it.
Have not used it or set it up yet. But I know I’m gonna love it. Good price fast shipping.
Very cool tent! I like the different configurations. Easy to pitch. There's more room in the tent than it looks. It has nice features, such as pockets on the inside and outside of the tent. Great ventilation. Cool color. It's my new favorite tent for solo camping.
This tent is a great design for a solo camper and is a quality made product. The tent has features that are not really apparent in the website description - bathtub floor, vents in the sleeping area that can be left open even if the door and windows need to be closed, a gear pocket in the 'loafing' area, loops and toggles to tie back window and door coverings and side curtains, heavy duty (and rigid) poles and strong stakes. It's easy to pitch and fits back in its bag easily. All stitching is perfect and the zippers work flawlessly. It's a luxury tent for a solo camper and if bugs aren't a concern a second camper can sleep in the 'front room'. I typically use just a tarp for camping so the coverage of this tent is way more that adequate. The Polycotton is very noticeably more comfortable that other materials. Even in bright sun on a hot day the tent does not feel like the inside of a greenhouse. I haven't used the mini tarp as a reflector but it does add useful coverage as an extension of the roof. It weighs exactly as described so not a tent you want to carry very far but great for car camping. For anyone who has always admired the 'Baker' style tent or Bill Mason's 'Campfire' tent I highly recommend this tent.
